With the new year begun, we’re departing from our usual practice with War Books. Whereas we typically include five books selected by a featured guest, this week we’re highlighting the War on the Rocks holiday reading list. The list features seventy-three titles and makes for an excellent place from which to pick books to read this year to better understand war and strategy. From brand-new titles to classics on strategy to little-known gems, the list, compiled by suggestions from thirty-six experts in a range of subjects, is sure to contain a number of suggestions that appeal to MWI readers seeking a deeper understanding of the security challenges likely to feature most prominently in the near future—from Russia to the cyber domain, and from future battlefield technologies to the Islamic State.
