Col. (ret) Jody Prescott is a lecturer at the University of Vermont, where he teaches Cybersecurity Law & Policy, Environmental Law, and Energy Law & Climate Change. He was an active duty US Army judge advocate, and retired in 2011 after twenty-five years of service. Jody had operational tours in Bosnia and Afghanistan, and taught at the US Army Command and General Staff College as well as the US Military Academy. He was commissioned as an infantry lieutenant in 1983 after he graduated from the University of Vermont, and received an educational deferment to attend the University of Maine School of Law, where he graduated with a JD in 1986. After coming on duty as a judge advocate, Jody received an LLM in International & Comparative Law from Georgetown in 1990, and an LLM in Military Law from The Judge Advocate General’s School in 1994. His publications include Armed Conflict, Women and Climate Change (Routledge 2018) and Ordinary Soldiers: A Study in Ethics, Law, and Leadership (US Holocaust Memorial Museum and the Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies at West Point, 2014).
