MWI Speaker Series: Discussing “Athena Rising: How and Why Men Should Mentor Women”

The panel will discuss the importance of mentoring within the profession of arms. Panelists will discuss the research and evidence brought forth in Dr. W. Brad Johnson and Dr. David Smith’s 2016 book Athena Rising: How and Why Men Should Mentor Women. Published in September 2016, the book explores evidence that demonstrates that women face more barriers in securing mentorship than men, and when they do find a mentor they may reap a narrower range of both career and psychological benefits.
