In this episode of the MWI Podcast, two guests—retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Bob Dulaney and Dr. Mike Skaff—join to discuss the F-35. The F-35 is the fifth-generation fighter the US military is counting on to meet the needs of the future battlespace. It’s also an extraordinarily expensive platform and the subject of more than a little controversy. Both guests are former Air Force fighter pilots. Dulaney is also a representative of the F-35’s manufacturer, Lockheed Martin, where Skaff is an engineer who was responsible for designing the new fighter’s cockpit.

In a wide-ranging conversation about the new fighter, they discuss everything from the fundamental transformation the F-35 represents over earlier-generation fighters to how it will perform as a close air support asset for ground forces.
