Nonresident Fellow
Andrew A. Szarejko is a Donald R. Beall defense fellow in the Defense Analysis Department at the Naval Postgraduate School. He received his PhD in government from Georgetown University in 2020. His research focuses on the origins, manifestations, and consequences of political violence in early US relations with Native nations. His academic work has appeared or is forthcoming in the Journal of Global Security Studies, the Cambridge Review of International Affairs, PS: Political Science & Politics, and Learning and Teaching. He also serves as the teaching editor for H-Diplo, in which capacity he curates and maintains open-access teaching resources relevant to instructors of international relations and diplomatic history. He is the editor of a forthcoming volume to be published by Palgrave Macmillan, Pandemic Pedagogy: Teaching International Relations amid COVID-19. Prior to his work at the Naval Postgraduate School, he was a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Cincinnati and a Hans J. Morgenthau fellow at the Notre Dame International Security Center.
