MWI Resident Military Fellow

Maj. John Chambers is an Instructor of American Politics in the Department of Social Sciences at the United States Military Academy. He is an Engineer Officer with eleven years of service to include deployments to northeast Baghdad during the surge and a no-notice deployment to Haiti in 2010 as part of the Global Response Force. He served as a task force engineer, platoon leader, and executive officer in 2nd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, the commander and chief of training of the Sapper Leader Course, and commander of the 509th Clearance Company. Additionally, he and his teammate won the 2011 Best Sapper Competition.

John holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the United States Military Academy, a Master of Science in Engineering Management from the Missouri University of Science and Technology, and a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He is also a certified Project Management Professional. John is married with two children.
