MWI Resident Military Fellow

Maj. Jon Bate is an Instructor of Economics in the Department of Social Sciences at the United States Military Academy. He is an infantry officer with eleven years of service and three combat deployments to southern and eastern Afghanistan. He served as a platoon leader and company executive officer in 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, company commander in 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, brigade plans officer for the 327th Infantry Regiment, and commander of the Pathfinder Company, 5th Battalion, 101st Aviation in the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, KY.

Jon holds a Bachelor in Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University, a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the United States Military Academy, and Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Jon resides in Westchester County, NY with his wife Bailey.
